Wagster mod with octoprint
« on: February 10, 2020, 07:12:20 AM »
Has anyone used the wagster mod with octoprint?  I am using v1.3 and with the octopi controlling the print i get an error on the machine when trying to baby step.  I have not been able to find a plugin for octopi to do so through octoprint.

Whenever you use octoprint and the tft you have a chance of getting errors. They are basically using the same serial chain and can interrupt each other. If you are slow you can usually get your steps in without errors. Sometimes it causes errors. Rarely does it stop a print. If you want to do it right use Octoprint and change the zsteps via gcode that way it feeds into the pipeline that's running instead of trying to jump into it.

So would you send it through the terminal then if so what would the command before a baby step?

Install the terminal commands extended plugin - you can define specific buttons to go on the terminal tab, and label them.
So rather than having to remember each code, you can click the button - define one for up and one for down.

EG
M290 Z0.25 for up
M290 Z-0.25 for down
