3DUK Firmware / Re: Problem with firmware on v4 Genius
« on: September 11, 2020, 04:06:13 PM »
Hi, sorry been on holiday for a week.  Will try and help if I can.

Can you let me know just whats going on please.  At what point is it going to the right, is it after the G28 Home command where it goes to the left, then moved the bed back, then goes to the centre and lowers?

Hi, Yes and no... It will work with the mainboard firmware but wont work with the touchscreen :-(  you have no way of pressing continue that I know of.

So but I can't help as I've not had or played with one of these boards.  The first thing I would check is that the endstops are working correctly.  Sending a M119 command give the conditions of these stops. I would then trigger each one in to whilst sending another M119 and seeing if it then said triggered.  Once I knew it was okay I would then move onto adding the BLTouch as I would know I had a working base to work from.

Hi, just wondering if you reset your eepom, or load default settings, then save them via the LCD screen.  Without doing this I dont think it saves anything.

you can't do this from the touchscreen but you could write them to a gcode file and run it as a print.  Otherwise you can just compile up a new firmware for the mainboard.  The eeprom is enabled so if you're doing the gcode then make sure you add a M500 to save them.

Your board seems okay.  When you updated your touchscreen did it say updating and then start copying over all the files when you powered it on?

the serial port should be fine, dont need to mess with any of that.  The com speed baud rate needs to be the same on both but you should be able to flash with the default one to make sure it's all working.  When you flashed your board were you able to communicate with it via a PC.. ie send a G28 command and it homed?

That looks okay, not sure why then. Have you changed the baud rate at all on either?

Because of how your new extruder is geared you need to reverse your motor. You can either flip two wires out of the four or change the direction in the firmware.

If your nozzle is no longer centred then you also need to change your bedsize and offsets.  They are also in the firmware, both are in the configuration.h file from memory.

Have you plugged the ribbon cable connecting them both back into the correct port on the back of the touchscreen?   If it's showing 0/0 and you don't have any control then you don't have communication between the screen and the mainboard.  The screen has similar connectors on the back, my guess is it's in the wrong one.

Sorry, I no longer have my X1 to take a photo for you.

3DUK Chitchat / New website name.... no more PretendPrusa!
« on: August 08, 2020, 04:38:19 AM »
So after a bit of thinking I've decided to change the website name over to  PretendPrusa was a decent name but kind of pigeon holes the site.

The whole forum has been now copied over but if you find something broken, please let me know.

Many thanks,

You also need to change Z MIN pin in Ramps.h file in the pins folder.  I think from memory you swap pin 18 to 19..  or something like that.   The BLTouch is connected to the Z max pin not the Z min pin so you just need to swap them over.

Try a different device or make sure your harddrive isn't full.  Not had this problem reported before but PM me your email and I'll send you a direct link.
