Title: Belt tension
Post by: b1hiker on May 14, 2019, 08:37:22 PM
I finally got my pretend prusa mk3 up and running. The belt tension seems right but the"belt status" values are very low 60-90. What values are you guys seeing, and is this initiative of needing to change a firmware value?

I got calibration to pass, then after a few small prints the x axis crashed and it hasn't re calibrated correctly.

Hi, the lower the number the tighter the belt is.. so I think you need to slacken them off a little from memory.  The ideal value is about 270 I think but I've just looked at mine and they are 180 / 192.. so a little over tight really. If they are too tight they will cause extra wear on the bearings and might be the reason your's is no longer calibrating correctly.  Try releasing them a little and see how it goes. The Y axis is the easiest to do.
